Officials of the Filoil-Flying V Hanes Premier Cup said on Tuesday that CJ Servillion, the JRU student who collapsed during a basketball game on Friday, received emergency medical assistance.

“The on-site medic immediately attended to Servillon before he was rushed to the hospital,” writes Jasmine Payo on Inquirer.net.

Says tournament director Joey Guillermo, “our rescue team did everything they could. They made sure he reached the hospital alive.”

During a game against De La Salle Zobel on Friday, Servillon collapsed after complaining of dizziness. The game was stopped while the medics tried to revived him, before rushing Servillon to the Cardinal Memorial Hospital.

Says Guillermo, it only took four minutes, from when the medics assisted him to when he was brought to the ambulance. “They were able to reach the hospital in six minutes.”

Servillon died on Sunday. The cause of death is still undetermined.
