17 truckloads of garbage collected (so far) along Black Nazarene procession route

If cleanliness is really next to Godliness, then this is hell. (Which makes it so ironic that it hurts.)

“The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has so far accumulated 17 truckloads of garbage left behind in the procession of the Black Nazarene image on Thursday, Jan 9,” reports Louis Bacani on Philstar.com.

MMDA chairman Francis Tolentino said the agency’s clearing group are still collecting the trash and debris. On the bright side, he said that the procession this year “seems to be faster since the ‘Pahalik’ or kissing of the Black Nazarene image has been done a day earlier.”

Hopefully, we can just kiss the garbage goodbye, too.
