Quezon City police have taken into custody the driver of a public bus that turned and landed on its side in Commonwealth Avenue Quezon City on Wednesday. At least 17 passengers were injured, with one sustaining a broken leg as a result of the accident.
According to GMA News, the accident took place at Litex area while the bus was trying to make a U-turn. Initial reports revealed that the bus was speeding while negotiating the turn.
However, the driver, Roderick Beril, claimed that he was trying to avoid another vehicle when the bus lost its brakes. The driver will be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property and multiple physical injuries.
