A 15-year-old student of Pedro N. Roa Senior High School in Barangay Canitoan, Cagayan de Oro City, fatally stabbed his teacher three times inside the classroom on Tue morning, Sep 13.
The victim, Vilma Cabactulan, was rushed to Madonna and Child Hospital where she later died, Sun.Star reports.
According to the police, the young suspect used a seven-inch knife to stab the 43-year-old teacher in the back the immediately fled after the incident.
The boy was eventually persuaded by his parents and uncle to turn himself in.
He is scheduled to undergo medical and psycho-social examination under the supervision of the Bulua Police Station’s Women and Children’s Protection Desk (WCPD).
According to the boy’s classmates, the suspect had been angry with his teacher for reprimanding the him for absences and frequent use of cellphone in class.
The suspect claims that he planned the crime with two other boys who also held a grudge against Cabactulan.
They supposedly drew lots to determine who would do the stabbing.
Police authorities have yet to talk to the two boys. The family of the suspect refused to give further information.
