12-year-old kid in police uniform extorts money from PUV drivers

If you think you’ve seen it all, then think again. We ourselves nearly choked on our morning coffee when we read this insane story.

“A 12-year-old boy wearing a complete police uniform (with a replica of 9mm gun in his holster, no less) and acting like a corrupt policeman was apprehended by authorities on Tuesday, February 23. The boy had been acting hostile and extorting money from PUV drivers in Pasay City, threatening to report them to the PNP Highway Patrol Group (HPG) if they didn’t give in to his demands,” reports Zhander Cayabyab on ABS-CBNnews.com.

Get this: The boy also had a pad of pink “tickets,” which he also used to scare drivers. Despite the absolutely crazy scenario, the drivers gave cash to the kid because they were afraid that he was the child of a corrupt cop.

Fortunately, some drivers complained about the little extortionist and legitimate law enforces came to get him.

The report noted: “The boy told police that he lives in Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan. He also allegedly bought the police uniform in Camp Crame, and said he has friends who are members of the police. Jaqueline Ta-a, Police Community Precinct 4 chief, said it is possible that the boy grew up in Camp Bagong Diwa, and may have found the police uniform somewhere.”

“Feeling niya talaga, pulis siya, opisyal siya. Hindi niya tini-treat ‘yung sarili niya na bata siya. Kung makipag-usap siya, pati ‘yung mga lenggwahe na ginagamit niya, parang pulis na pulis talaga siya. Pati nga ‘yung damit makikita mo, proper attire talaga siya (He really seems convinced that he is a police official. He doesn’t see himself as a child. When you talk to him, even the lingo he uses is that of a cop’s. He’s even in proper minitature attire),” Ta-a stated.

The boy has been turned over to the Pasay City Youth Homes, where he will be assessed by social workers. They will also try to track down his family.
