12 arrested from suspected drug den in Makati

Twelve people were arrested last night at a suspected drug den in Makati.

The Philippine Daily Inquirer identified the suspects as Francis Pestanas, 29; Lorein Pabanil, 24; Lexter Raguro, 45; Binoy Martin, 42; Gina Paderes, 43; Carter Rasping, 30; Michael Malano, 30; Ariel Doralta, 33; Allan Paderes, 43; Romie Palon, 34; Eduardo Faguro, 55; and Elaiza Estacio, 27.

Rappler reported that all 12 were arrested at a rented house at 4076 Mascardo St. in the village of Bangkal, and many of them were residents of the area.

Pestanas and Pabanil were allegedly running the drug den, which served as a place where people can buy and do drugs. Television show Umagang Kay Ganda showed that the alleged den had CCTV cameras installed all over the place, from the ceiling to the door.

Undercover police had a transaction with the two at 7:30pm and the bust occurred at 9pm, reported the Inquirer.

Authorities found 40 grams of suspected methamphetamine (shabu) worth PHP200,000 (USD$ 3,836) from the scene of the crime, according to ABS-CBN News. The meth was placed in 23 plastic sachetsInquirer reported.

The cops also recovered packets of suspected cocaine, a weighing scale, four cell phones, a notebook believed to contain the names of customers, and the PHP500 (US$9.59) that the undercover cops used during their transaction with the alleged dealers.

According to the police, Pestanas was an associate of a drug lord who was killed in December.

The suspects will be charged with Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The cops also said that they will trace the drug den owners’ suspected clients whose names were written in the notebook.
