101 aspiring police officers quit within days of entering the PNPA

Mere days into training , 101 cadets of the Philippine National Police have already quit, whittling down the original class of 363.

According to an Interaksyon report, 41 of the cadets of PNPA Class of 2017 quit during pre-cadet orientation and failed their physical conditioning exercises. The rest of the 101 cadets who quit did so in the days that followed.

The remaining 262 cadets have to finish 45 days of the orientation training.

Graduates of the PNPA’s  four-year Bachelor of Science in Public Safety cadetship program have the option to join the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, or the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology with the rank of inspector, the equivalent of a lieutenant in the military.  While scholars at the PNPA, cadets receive basic pay of P14,538 plus allowances.
