Only 637 people were invited to President-elect Rodrigo Duterte’s inauguration, but there are a thousand names on the waiting list.
Communications Secretary Martin Andanar said that nobody from the original list is interested in backing out, so there will be no room for those who are waiting for a chance to watch the inauguration scheduled on the noon of Thu, Jun 30.
“Kung wala ng magba-back out mukhang wala ng chance yung nasa waiting list,” he explained in a report by Inquirer.
Most of the inaugural guests took their breakfast at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City.
They were advised to park their cars at the PICC because of the limited parking in Malacañang. Buses were hired to shuttle the guests to the inauguration venue.
As of 9am, seven buses bound for Duterte’s inauguration in Malacañang have left the PICC. About 10 to 15 buses were hired for the event.
