Ten Russian women were arrested last night in a Manila bar after it was discovered that they were working there illegally.

The Manila Police District (MPD) arrived at about 9:40pm at the Sha Sha VIP Club — did we say “bar”? we meant “VIP Club”! — in Malate district for a surprise inspection after receiving reports that some bars in the area have become fronts for illegal drugs.

During their visit, they shocked to discover the following “guest relations officers” did not have working visas and arrested them on the spot: Ekaterina Golubeva, 27; Polina Tagunova, 26; Anna Mozharevskaya, 24; Anatasia Bakumenko, 23; Aleksandra Ivanova, 29; Zukhra Akhmedzianova, 21; Alexandra Zivittinsh, 21; Diana Razogreeva, 21; Anna Nikitina, 27; and Ussipbek Kymbat, 24, reported The Philippine Daily Inquirer.

Yes, what self-respecting “VIP Club” doesn’t need at least 10 Russian nationals between the ages of 21 and 29 to staff up their “guest relations officers” positions?

The MPD said the bar is owned by a certain Reynaldo Custodio, according to Rappler.

Manila City Hall will file charges against the women for working without permits, reported ABS-CBN News. They are currently detained at the MPD.
