10-foot python caught in Davao after eating 4 chickens

A 10-ft python was captured on Tue morning after it chowed down four chickens in Alzate compound in Barangay Matina Crossing, Davao City.

Resident Elena Tolda said she checked outside their house after hearing loud noises. She was shocked to discover the that the snake has preyed on her chickens.

The reptile was caught with the help of Tolda’s neighbors and has been turned over to the 911 Davao rescue team, ABS-CBN News.

The snake was believed to be a reticulated python, the longest snake in the world. This variety of snake has an average length of 12 to 20 feet, with a maximum length of 30 feet, and can weigh up to 300 pounds.

The recent downpour in the area might have caused the snake to slither out of a creek which is located right beside Tolda’s home.
