“At least one million guests are expected to flock to Iloilo province this weekend for the Dinagyang Festival,” reports GMA News Online.
Dinagyang, which is celebrated in honor of the Santo Niño, is considered one of the biggest festivals in Western Visayas. Traditionally, it is held on the fourth Sunday of January. (Click this link for the schedule of events.)
The report noted: “Five stages are being constructed to serve as judging areas for the tribes that will take part in the Kasadyahan Festival and Ati-Tribe competition. Emergency lanes have also been set up in case of contingencies.”
