1 killed, 9 injured in Makati by gunmen in van

Are we supposed to consider this as “normal”?

“One person was killed and nine others were injured after five unidentified men aboard a van opened fire along Tylo Street in Barangay Pio del Pilar in Makati City at around 12:45am on Friday, January 23,” reports Mike Frialde on Philstar.com.

A radio report claimed the suspects were aboard “a Toyota Innova without license plates.”

According to the Southern Police District, the fatality was identified as Michael Garcia. He was declared dead on arrival at the Ospital ng Makati.
 
Those injured were taken to the same hospital. They were identified by the police as Michael Bagang, Jay Sapanta, Christoper Yvan, Jad Jerome Wong, Mark Jospeh Canda, Arnel Manalangan, Juan Carlos Zamorra, Oliver Agbayani, and Chris Ivan Paulino.
 
The report indicated that “police said the motive behind the shooting is still being investigated.”
