Manny Pacquiao marks 35th birthday with “simple” party, invites just 1,000 guests

To normal folks like us, this isn’t exactly “downzising” yet. And for someone who is said to have tax woes in both the U.S. and the Philippines, Manny Pacquiao sure seems relatively calm.

“Unlike his previous lavish birthday parties, the eight-division boxing champion and Sarangani congressman prepared a [‘downsized’] 35th birthday celebration on Tuesday night at the KCC Convention Center in General Santos City,” reports Aquiles Z. Zonio in the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

The report noted that Pacquiao referred to the celebration as “simple.” What the proof of that? Apparently, only 1,000 guests were invited.

In the days leading up to his birthday, Pacquiao was seen handing out cash and relief goods to victims of Typhoon Yolanda in Samar and Leyte. Then on Tuesday morning, according to the report, “Pacquiao spent time in feeding elementary pupils of Alegria Elementary School in Alabel town, Sarangani, before attending two separate Christmas parties of the Sarangani provincial government and Malungon town.”
