The winner of the 63rd Annual Miss Universe, who will be crowned on Jan 25 (Jan 26 in the Philippines) will be wearing a new crown designed by pageant sponsor Diamonds International Corporation (DIC).
According to the Instagram account of DIC, “the new crown was designed to blend the Czech roots of DIC with the beautiful skyline of New York City, home of the Miss Universe Organization and its titleholders.”
Craftsmen reportedly spent over 3,000 hours to create the crown that they describe as “a beautiful and timeless crown with a very unique infrastructure, inspired by design elements of various royal crowns throughout history.” It also “symbolizes and expresses the beauty, stability, confidence and power of women around the world.”
Well, we think it looks like a toy crown you can buy in Toy Kingdom.
We kinda dig its futuristic charm, though. It kinda reminds us of Iceland or Frozen or Kryptonite.
Oh, and here is philpageantry photo of Mary Jean Lastimosa posing with the new crown as if telling everyone, hey it’s mine.
