We are not the biggest fans of duo Moymoy Palaboy, the Internet sensation that made it big because of their homemade videos featuring them lip-synching to popular songs.
Scratch that. We are NOT a fan. Even if they made it big by becoming mainstream and a regular in the GMA 7 gag show Bubble Gang. We think they’re baduy.
Call us snobs but we really don’t find it funny!
We find the costumes and makeup and props corny.
And even if they feature celebrity guests such as Solenn Heussaff, Mark Herras, and Rhian Ramos, we’re still not sold.
And oh, don’t even ask us about the hair!
So when we heard that Rodfil, one of the members of the duo, auditioned for Asia’s Got Talent together with his 54-year old biritera discovery, we were not excited.
We had to watch it, and as expected, we weren’t impressed by the hair, the turning around after Rodfil sang “turned around,” and the props.
We were kind of embarrassed, actually.
We kind of couldn’t wait for it to end.
And we were not alone. Judge David Foster found Rodfil not good enough for the next round, and even asked Fe, the singer, if she would ditch Rodfil just so she could get him to say yes, and move her on to the next round.
But wait, we did say in the title that we love and hate Rodfil of Moymoy Palaboy. So after enumerating the many reasons why we don’t like him, we actually have a reason why we love him: he’s got heart. Before they performed, Rodfil shared that he saw her video online and asked her to be his partner and that he just wanted to help her fulfil her dream of becoming a popular singer.
Awww.
For that reason alone, we love Rodfil more than we hate him or his duo Moymoy Palaboy.
