Date: Opens March 22, Friday
Venue: Onstage Theatre, 2/F Greenbelt 1, Paseo de Roxas, Makati City

Comedies about dysfunctional families are popular on television, but apparently they make for excellent plays, too. To be staged by Repertory Philippines this weekend is Father’s Day, a play by veteran British TV writer Eric Chappell.

It’s a witty comedy about Henry, a father who is unexpectedly visited by his estranged son and his young goth — and possibly pregnant — 16-year-old girlfriend. This leads to a reunion with Henry’s ex-wife that’s awkward for the characters but hilarious for the audience.

The show opens on Friday and will run until April 14, Thursday.

Tickets are priced at PHP1,200 (US$22.69) and PHP1,500 (US$28.36) and are available on Ticket World.

The show was produced by local company Atlantis Theatrical and stars veteran stage, film, and TV actors Art Acuña, Pinky Amador, Angeli Bayani, Topper Fabregas, Cherie Gil, Nelsito Gomez, Andoy Ranay, and Markki Stroem.

It opens on Friday and will run until April 7, Sunday. Tickets are priced at PHP1,500 (US$28.36) – PHP3,500 (US$66.17) and are available on Ticket World.

This will include Priya Thachadi, the co-founder and CEO of business incubator Villgro Philippines; Trish Bongco, head of digital marketing at marketing agency Howlr; and Cara Sumabat, the creator and principal designer of local bag brand Halo Halo.

The event will also have a networking segment for participants.
