See the last live show at Filinvest City’s Christmas Spectacle

This last leg of Filinvest City’s “Christmas Comes Alive” closes with a live show from six-piece, Manila-based indie folk band Ransom Collective. Their violin-laden hits “Fools,” “Run,” and “Open Road” should bring some warmth to the audience gathering at the cool and windy Spectrum Linear Park for this pre-New Year’s Eve gig. But make no mistake, twinkly lights and fireworks will still be on display.

Eastwood City’s countdown to 2020 is set to have a dazzling fireworks display come midnight, but in the hours leading up to that, Eastwood Mall’s open park has assembled live acts from Original Pinoy Music’s (OPM) finest, from up-and-comers like four-piece band Meryl and pop duo Leanne and Naara, to OPM greats such as Ebe Dancel and Rico Blanco.
Show starts at 6pm, fireworks at midnight, and an after-party featuring Manila’s top DJs at Eastwood Central Plaza afterwards. It’s a stuffed-to-the-gills musical NYE celebration.

Stuff your face at this Pasay City Food Village

Venue: Makan Makan Asian Food Village, L2 Ocean Park Manila, Independence Rd, Ermita, Manila
What is a New Year’s eve countdown without food? Not a very festive one, we’d imagine. Luckily Manila Ocean Park’s Makan Makan Asian Food Village has this wholesome and quieter food-centered NYE celebration on offer. Your ticket covers a dinner buffet, glasses of sparkling wine, acoustic music, and even entry to a good old New Year’s eve mass. While you’re there, maybe take a quick peek at the Ocean Park and see what else is new since last you’ve been (though admission to the park is sold separately).
Tickets are at PHP2,500 (US$50) for adults, and PHP1,250 (US$25) for children, which you can get on site or at the Manila Ocean Park website.
Attend a White Ball at this Taguig City Club
Date: Dec. 31, Tuesday
Venue: Xylo at the Palace, 9th Ave corner 36th St., Uptown Bonifacio, Taguig City
Show up decked out in white and get free bar and floor access to the Palace Manila bars including Xylo at the Palace, Revel at the Palace, The Island, and Bad. The event is sponsored by Moet & Chandon Champagne, so expect free-flowing bubbly to go along with beats and good company. Doors open at 11pm and the free-flow bar is open until 1:30am.

Go for an old school sendoff at Manila’s Hard Rock Cafe

Venue: L2, S Maison, Conrad Manila, Seaside Boulevard, 1300 Coral Way, Pasay City
Rounding out the 2019 sendoff parties is a good old rock and roll celebration at Manila’s Hard Rock Cafe, featuring a live performance from bluegrass outfit Ice Bucket & Blue Grass. Show starts at 7pm and closes at 1am. Enjoy classic diner staples and a selection of beers and cocktail mixes, then rock until you drop at this iconic venue.
