Water therapy: Baron Geisler swims with whale sharks in Cebu

What the heck is Baron Geisler up to now?

On Fri, Dec 16, Baron posted on his Instagram page photos of himself swimming with whale sharks in Oslob, Cebu. He wrote this caption for one of the photos: “We meet again my gentle giant friend.”

That said, will environmental groups confront him about this?

It may be recalled that earlier this week, environmental groups such as the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), Marine Wildlife Watch of the Philippines (MWWP), and Greenpeace Southeast Asia were in a whale shark-related tizzy.

The groups blasted the organizers of the Miss Universe beauty pageant in the Philippines for letting contestants swim with endangered whale sharks in Oslob, Cebu.

They said that the activity interrupted with the animals’ natural behavior and disrupted their routine. Moreover, the activity encouraged other people to do the same — leading to further disruption for the whale sharks.

However, Department of Tourism (DOT) undersecretary Kat de Castro responded to the complaints, saying, “The marine wildlife interaction was pursued after having been assured by both Cebu and Oslob government officials that it would be well managed according to their guidelines.”

Well, now we have Baron frolicking with the whale sharks, too.

Let’s hope that Baron’s time with the whale sharks proves therapeutic and helps him get his groove back, so to speak.

Baron was recently banned from doing TV and movie projects by the Professional Artist Managers, Inc. (PAMI) after he urinated on his former co-star Ping Medina.

Baron had claimed that the problems that he faces now has led to his erratic behavior.
