Ah, Arnel Pineda has truly come a long way.
After becoming a YouTube sensation and singing up as the front man for Journey, the Filipino rockstar continues to light up stages and arenas world wide.
But the latest of these highly anticipated gigs happened right at home.
On Wed, Jan 20, Pineda wowed the Chicago concert crowd in Araneta Coliseum, when he went up the stage to jam with the band.
“Some guys only need one word for his first name,” Chicago founder Robert Lamm began his introduction of Pineda. “Such is this man. His name is Arnel.”
The crowd of course went wild.
Arnel, looking comfortable in a red V-neck shirt and a black vest, then launched with the opening verse of the Chicago hit, “You’re the Inspiration.”
Pineda, like a true rockstar, exclaimed at the end of the number, “I love these guys!”
