A Pinoy is joining Rachelle Ann Go on the Les Miserables stage!
The Voice Kids season two second runner-up Esang de Torres is joining the Manila run of the musical Les Miserables.
Esang will join the musical’s Manila cast as young Cosette.
“I’m very thankful and I’m very grateful, unang una po kay Lord kasi tinupad niya po ang pangarap ko na maging Little Cosette sa Les Miserables,” she told ABS-CBN.
It’s quite fitting that former reality talent show contestant was chosen to be part of Les Miserables. On The Voice Kids, Esang was coached by theater actress Lea Salonga. She even sang a number of Broadway tunes on her show, including “Home” from The Wiz and “Someday” from West Side Story.
Salonga took to Twitter to congratulate the young singer for her achievement.
“I am so proud of you!” the Broadway actress said.
