There’s a beauty pageant for almost everything in the Philippines.

This Sunday, Cebu celebrates the Sinulog Festival, an annual celebration in honor of the Holy Child Jesus, whose image was brought to Cebu by Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan in 1521.

So, of course, there is a beauty pageant for the Sinulog, too.

This year’s edition has stood out just a little more though, as the dress of contestant Isabel Luche of Daanbantayan, Cebu, has caught the attention of thousands of netizens. The dress (which looks like it weighs roughly a metric ton) features rice fields, native huts, and coconut trees.

It was first posted on the Facebook page of the Municipality of Daanbantayan. But it got over 16,000 shares when it was reposted by the account of local newspaper Cebu Daily News.

One netizen wondered, “What if she gets itchy? Or has to go to the CR (restroom)?”

Another netizen praised the creativity of the dress but wondered how she could even move in something so big and elaborate.

The parade of costumes for Sinulog Festival Queen will be held tonight at SM City Cebu. The winner of the contest will be crowned tomorrow night at the Cebu City Sports Center.

Luche’s costume will surely be a plus for the judges. Good luck!

p.s. Is it weird that we automatically thought of the Three-Eyed Raven from Game of Thrones?
