A netizen posted a series of screenshots this Wednesday which showed him having an Instagram fight with a prominent Filipino host and actor.

The tiff started when Luis Manzano, an actor and son of a prominent Filipino politician, posted a photo of himself wearing a pair of light-yellow shoes.

His caption reads: “One of the most comfortable pairs of shoes i have tried!!! Yeezy’s Supermoon Yellow!! [smiley]”

Yeezys, for those who don’t know, are shoes designed by Adidas and musician Kanye West and cost around US$200 (PHP10,676.09).

Instagram user Red Villar Garcia, using the handle @iamredgarcia, tagged @yeezybusta underneath Manzano’s post. Yeezy Busta is an IG account that posts photos of what it believes to be fake branded goods.

What followed next is an exchange of several irate messages from each party.

Note that their heated conversation can no longer be found on Manzano’s Instagram post, as the actor has already blocked Garcia.

However, Garcia posted on Facebook photos of what he said are screenshots of the whole conversation. The post has now received more than 17,400 shares.

Seeing the tag to Yeezy Busta, Manzano replied to Garcia in Filipino: “Don’t feel too envious, you should just work hard instead of having negative thoughts. It’s hard to wake up every day with envy stuck in your brain.”

Garcia wrote back: “Is that feeling envious? Hahaha.”

Manzano answered: “Yes, because instead of just keeping quiet, you have to be suspicious. That’s what happens when you live a life full of envy.”

“Maybe when something good happens to your family and friends, you think of something negative about them, no?” Manzano added. “The problem is, you’re the most envious person in your family. That’s a heavy burden to carry every day.”

“I just think in advance,” answered Garcia.

Manzano also wrote: “That’s okay pare [dude], that’s just envy. Take a deep breath and just fight. A lot of people die from envy.”

To which Garcia shot back: “Don’t you call me pare (dude) because in the first place, I’m not a godfather to any of your kids, hahahaha. Die of envy? I’ve never heard of anyone die of envy. Seems like you also think way in advance.”

“Don’t drag my family and friends here. They’re not involved here, hahaha. I’ve never said anything about you dating FHM girls, hahaha,” he added.

Manzano is dating Jessy Mendiola, who was a cover girl of the now defunct FHM Magazine. He also dated another ex-cover girl, Angel Locsin.

If you think that ended the IG spat, it apparently even escalated it.

“Envy does not make a person happy or his family,” answered Manzano. “It’s like when someone in your family has high grades but you think he cheated. Just because you think [my shoes] are fake to you, doesn’t mean it’s fake for someone else. That [envy] will eat you. You should pray.”

Judging by the content of Manzano’s next response, he checked Garcia’s profile and saw that he works for St. Lukes, a hospital located in Quezon City.

“St. Lukes is not a bad place. You just have to work hard so that you won’t feel envy in your bones! You just have to fight your negative personality,” added Manzano.

“I am not your pare, hehehe. And I’m not envious of your shoes. F*ck it, those are just shoes. They don’t even look nice. I just tagged them [Yeezy Busta] so they can check it. You should have just said, ‘those are originals’ instead of dragging our conversation. You even brought up my personal life. Why, are you faultless?” said Garcia.

Not letting up, Manzano answered: “Maybe if someone gets promoted at work, you’ll ruin their reputation, no? Just because they look fake to you, everyone will think the same!”

“Last time I checked, I have an okay personality. How about you?” answered Garcia, who clearly had no plans dropping the conversation either. “I don’t ruin people’s reputations. You’re the one who’s slandering people. Don’t drag my colleagues here. They’re not dealing with you. I just asked someone to check your shoes, not your reputation!”

Manzano tried to make light of the situation and wrote: “You’re talking to yourself, hahahaha. I’m going to block you. It has come to the point where you’re talking to yourself, hahahaha.”

“Block me. I don’t care,” answered Garcia. “I’ll wait for the new FHM, you can date the new cover girl, hahaha.”

The reactions to Garcia’s post were mixed.

One thought both were annoying. “Shut up,” wrote Rogelio Odiaman Macalisang in Filipino. “You’re both attention- seekers.”

One thinks Garcia was at fault. “You’re [Garcia] proud that you got into a fight, you a**hole. You’re the one who’s wrong, a**hole,” wrote a certain Bj Bugger.

Another thinks Manzano overreacted. “Luis seems guilty [laughing emoji]. It’s obvious,” wrote Ayra Hji Abdullah.

Here’s our takeaway from this whole sordid affair: keep receipts if you get into an Instagram fight.
