With a growing white beard, and a body looking much older than his age, it’s hard to recognize Ricardo Michaca, more popularly known as character actor caDick Israel.
According to a Facebook post that has gone viral, Israel is now in dire need of aid after a fire razed his house in Caloocan City on Saturday, Jul 2.
You’ll probably recognize him as a villain in television shows between the ’80s and ’90s. He’s also starred in more than 220 movies. Here’s how he looked like during his healthier days.

It’s hard to imagine that he’s the guy in this photo.

“Dick Israel isa sa hinangaan natin artista. kontrabida at komedyante noong dekada 80′s. Matapos magkasakit, nadamay naman sa sunog ang kanyang tinitirahan. Sana may mag paabot sa kanya ng tulong sa mga naka sama nya sa industriya. Kailangan nya ng damit .gamot at pagkain. Please share,” the Ikwento Mo Kay Delio Facebook page posted Sunday night.
(“DIck Israel is an actor, villain and comedian from the eighties. After getting sick, his house was razed in fire. We hope that his friends in the industry will be able help him. He needs clothes, food and medicine. Please share.”)
In 2010, the 57-year-old actor suffered a stroke, which left half of his body paralyzed and impaired his speech.
Prior to his sickness, he was recognized for his acting by local award-giving bodies. In 1988, he won Best Supporting Actor for his role in Patrolman at the Metro Manila Film Festival.
