Okay, we have no idea who Vice Ganda’s boyfriend is, since he rarely talks about him, but the latest news is that they’ve broken up. Vice himself confirmed this in the pilot episode of the The Buzz—yes it’s back—on May 18.
He shared with The Buzz host Kris Aquino that their separation was mutual. “I believe that the only way to keep him is to let him go,” he said. Nag-peak na kami. Ang ganda ng samahan namin. Ang ganda ng pagkakaibigan namin. Feeling ko ‘yun na ‘yun.”
Vice also emphasized that he wants his ex, a basketball player he’s known for five years, to find a girlfriend that he can eventually marry. He wants the best for him because even if they’ve already split, he considers him as his best friend. “We are separated but we are never apart. Forever ko siyang magiging friend kasi mabuting tao siya.”
He added: “I wish him luck. Gusto ko siyang maging masaya habang buhay. Ang dami niyang plano, ang dami niyang gustong puntahan, ang dami niyang gustong kilalanin. Mas magagawa niya ‘yun dahil malayang malaya na siya. Habang buhay ko siya panonooring umaangat at habang buhay akong papalakpak habang umaangat siya. Mabuting tao kasi talaga yun.”
It was a very discreet relationship—largely because of his partner’s profession. They cannot be seen in public together so their dates are mostly at Vice Ganda’s home.
“Just recently I had a date with my boyfriend. Where? Inside my room,” he told Tatin Yang in Philippine Daily Inquirer early this year. “Nakakapagod kasi, ’di pwedeng lumabas, ’di pwedeng mag-date, so sabi ko, itigil na natin ’to. Ang title ng movie natin, “Pag-ibig Sa Silid,” ’di tayo makaalis, ’di tayo makapag-date.”
But his boyfriend knew how to make an effort: “So, one day, pumunta siya sa bahay, nakaayos, sabi niya sa akin, “may date ako.” Tapos, pinaakyat niya ako sa kwarto ko, magde-date daw kami sa kwarto ko! May gitarista na naggi-gitara lang the whole night nagpa-set siya ng dinner sa maid, adobo, softdrinks. Pinatay niya ’yong ilaw, sa bathroom lang, para candlelight, sumasayaw lang kami sa kwarto na parang mga baliw. Sabi ko, saang sine mo ba napanood ’to.”
