It seems like the world is infatuated with ube (pronounced OO-BEH). The purple wonder has been making its way to restaurants around the world. Now, it’s on mainstream TV, too.
The Cartoon Network show Steven Universe joined the ube train on the Season 4 finale of the hit show.

For those who don’t know yet, ube is purple yam. It was hailed as “the next big thing in dessert” in 2016.
The purple wonder was an ingredient in the Golden Cristal Donut, which was sold for USD1000 a dozen at the Manila Social Club. It may be found in the popular shaved ice dessert halo-halo, too.
