It could be an hour on the treadmill or going to the movies alone — no matter how busy you are, you need quality time with yourself every so often.

If you are in need of pampering, we suggest the Third Eye Wellness in BGC.  It’s a mind-body-energy center offering healing sessions, tarot readings, and trainings that can help with personal transformations — it will shake up your consciousness, for a change.

It may sound too spiritual (New Age?) for you, but honestly, you don’t need to believe the whole healing hoo-ha to appreciate the experience.

Third Eye Wellness was founded by an energetic woman, Sanaiyah Gurnamal. She was once a corporate slave herself, but her life changed after attending a healing session, which helped cure her lactose intolerance. Since then, Shanaiyah has focused her energies in learning about alternative healing techniques and helping others in their respective transformations.

People in relentless pursuit of peace and happiness go to the Third Eye Welless in search for answers. Shanaiyah has helped people deal with stress, anxiety, depression, migranes and even heartbreaks.

Third Eye is best known as first ThetaHealing center in the Philippines.

Thetawhat?

ThetaHealing is an ‘instant’ healing technique which uses brainwaves to change a person’s emotional, mental, spiritual and physical state.

I got to try a 15-minute ThetaHealing session, and it surprisingly left me energized. The “healer’ just asked me yes or no questions — no crystal balls, no magic, but there was a little bit of drama.

Those who are serious about wanting to learn more can also attend training sessions in healing modalities, Feng Shui, The Chakra Energy System and more. At least once of Sanaiyah’s former clients left her stressful career to become a Theta Healer.

Still not buying it? Then you can go to Third Eye Wellness for nourishment and pampering instead.

There’s the Chakra Cafe, offering organic options, healthy snacks and smoothies. It’s a popular choice among professionals working in the area. If you are in the area anyway, then it’s a good idea to give it a try.

Then there’s also Transcend Spa and Nails, which is like your favorite beauty center, but more. It offers holistic treatments, which supposedly nourish the mind and soul too. Plus they use organic, vegan and environmentally-friendly products!

We say it’s worth a visit, even if you’re cynical about it. After all, taking time to stop and look inward is always a good thing. Also, who would say no to a good massage?
