Money is not enough to be a member of this exclusive club.

Manila House, located at Bonifacio Global City, is the newest private club that brings together select members of Philippine society.

Like its predecessors, it requires hefty fees – a founding member has to make a one-time payment of PHP250,000 (US$5,000) and P2,000 (US$40) monthly, for instance. This gives him or her access to Manila House’s facilities, which include restaurants, bars, and function rooms.

But not everyone gets the opportunity to sign up and pay as he or she needs to be invited by an existing member.

To date, Manila House has only about 600 members, according to one of the club’s staff. Each member can bring his or her own guests here for a quick meal or get-together, or even a grand celebration.

Some of the prominent personalities who have been spotted here include KC Concepcion, Vicki Belo and daughter Cristalle, Korina Sanchez, Angeli Pangilinan, and Michael Cinco.

Taking photos at Manila House was banned – to be consistent with the club’s “exclusive image” – until a few months ago. Today, members can share snippets of their experience as long as they do not include other private diners in the background.
