Tom Rodriguez is getting training to get hotter because look! He will play Sergio Santibanez in second GMA adaptation of Marimar. The role, if you remember, was once played by Dingdong Dantes.
The actor is getting into boxing, gym exercises, and a high-protein diet.
“Mas nararamdaman ko ang health benefits. Siguro maliban sa paghahanda sa character parte na rin siya ng paghahanda sa rigorous taping,” Tom said in an interview with GMA News.
Tom also revealed he’s has practice with training horses which might come in handy for his role. “Kami ng dad ko, nagti-train kami ng horses sa Arizona, pero matagal na akong hindi nakakapag-sakay ng kabayo,” he added.
The actor said he’s excited to work alongside Miss World 2013 Megan Young, who will appear as Marimar. He also admitted he has a huge crush on one of his Marimar co-stars Alice Dixson who will play “I’m really looking forward to it, lalo na si Ms. Alice Dixson na crush na crush ko. Yung aso ko dati nga eh, I named her Dixie.”
Marimar is set to air in Aug 2015. In 2007, Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes played the lead roles for the first Philippine adaptation of Marimar.
