His fans and even his concert promoter Renen de Guia of Ovation Productions were shocked when Tom Jones cancelled his Manila concert last Sat, Apr 2, at the eleventh hour.

At that time, Jones’ management could only say the 75-year-old singer had to cancel his performance in Manila “due to serious illness in his immediate family.” They didn’t give any more details.
Jones also cancelled shows in Thailand, Hong Kong, Korea, Japan, and UAE immediately after the cancellation of his Manila show was announced.
It turns out Jones’ cancellation of his shows was definitely necessary.
Jones’ wife, Lady Melinda Rose Woodward, passed away after a battle with cancer at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles on Sun, Apr 10 (Mon, Apr 11 in PH). This was confirmed in a statement posted on Jones’ official website.
Jones and his wife were together for 59 years. She was his high school girlfriend.
