As Metro Manila loosens restrictions to Alert Level 3 from October 16 to 31, families can take a break from the same four walls of their home and go on a “staycation” in any of the metro’s approved hotels, according to the Department of Tourism (DOT).

The DOT clarified that while individuals of all ages may check in, only fully vaccinated guests 18 and above can book their stay.

Unvaccinated guests checking in will be required to present a negative RT-PCR test result.

According to the tourism bureau’s guidelines, only DOT-accredited hotels with a government-issued safety seal certification will be allowed to accept guests checking in for a staycation.
