Date: June 29 & 30 (Friday & Saturday)
Venue: The Theatre at Solaire, Solaire Resort & Casino, 1 Aseana Ave., Entertainment City, Paranaque City

Binondo, Manila’s Chinatown is said to be the oldest Chinatown in the world. Tsinoy (Chinese-Filipino) culture is so embedded in the city that there is now a play that centers around it.

Directed by film and television director Joel Lamangan, Binondo: A Tsinoy Musical tells the story of a love triangle between Lily, a Filipino nightclub singer; her childhood friend of Chinese descent, Carlos; and Ah Tiong, a mainland Chinese scholar.

The play is set in the Philippines and China throughout the 1970s and the 1990s and will bring audiences back to a different kind of Manila.

Date: June 30, Saturday
Venue: Kia Theatre, Araneta Center Cubao, Quezon City

Korean drama fans, this one is for you. On Saturday, Jung Hae In will be coming to Manila to hold a fan meet at the Kia Theatre.

For those who aren’t in on this fandom, Hae In is the star of the show Something in the Rain (aka Pretty Sister Who Buys Me Food), which premiered on Netflix earlier this year. However, many have loved him since appearing as police officer Han Woo-tak, the second lead in last year’s hit While You Were Sleeping.

Tickets are available on TicketNet

P.S. Those who prefer K-pop over K-dramas can look forward to idol group Super Junior’s concert at the Mall of Asia Arena, also on Saturday.
