Sure, Spotify is pretty much the go-to source for most of us looking for music nowadays, but vinyl records will never lose their fans.

Good news, audiophiles: Long-time and newbie collectors among us have this Saturday’s Satchmi Vinyl Day to look forward to — they’re offering discounts on records covering all genres.

Admission is free, and shoppers will be serenaded by a solid line-up of local bands, including Sandwich, She’s Only Sixteen, and Flying Ipis.

Date: June 16, Saturday
Venue: Warehouse Eight, 2241 Don Chino Roces Ave., Warehouse 8-B, Makati City

Chain bookstores and larger-than-life book fairs are common in Manila. Independent bookshops for the more introverted bookworm, though — not so much.

But this weekend, those looking for a more intimate setting to discover new literature can visit the Komura book fair in Warehouse Eight.

Apart from a selection of books and local zines, there will also be indie video games, a vinyl lounge, coffee, and fiction-inspired cocktails all fit for the rainy weather.

The entrance fee is PHP200 (US$3.76), and children below 10 years old can enter at half the price.

Date: June 16 – 17 (Saturday – Sunday)
Venue: Globe Iconic Store, Bonifacio High Street Amphitheater, Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig City

It’s not every day you get to watch great local acts for free, but that’s exactly what the Globe Live Street series of concerts is bringing to BGC.

Starting this Saturday, the Bonifacio High Street Amphitheater will be turned into a concert for everyone who happens to be walking by the area.

This weekend’s lineup includes Franco, True Faith, Quest, Rouge, Johnoy Danao, and Leanne and Naara.

Globe Live Street will run on all weekends until July 7, Saturday and will have themes like unplugged, retro, lounge, and OPM (Original Pilipino Music).
