Filipino Broadway star Lea Salonga warned supporters on Friday about a fake Facebook account that is allegedly posing as her and asking her fans for money.

“I would never do that, ever. Not in a million years,” Salonga said.

According to Salonga, the fake account uses her name and profile picture and contacts her fans to solicit money.

While she did not specify what social media platform the account is from, Facebook user Maia Villapañe shared screencaps of Facebook messages between the fake Salonga account and another user in the comments section.

“If you’ve received a message from someone using my name asking for money, report and block,” Salonga said.

Never afraid to call anyone out on social media, she also did not skip the chance to throw some shade at the scammer and commented on their grammar.

“I’ve seen a sampling of the messages. My God, talk about murder of the English language,” she said.

However, it would probably be easy for Salonga’s fans to figure out that she wasn’t actually the one asking for money. Salonga is very active on social media, especially Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and has accounts her fans probably already follow.

There’s likely no reason for her to ask anyone for money, either, as she continues to be one of the most famous Filipino celebrities today.

Salonga is a theater star most known for being the first to play Kim in the musical Miss Saigon, for which she won a Tony Award. She’s also the singing voice of Disney Princesses Jasmine and Mulan. She is a household name in the Philippines where she has appeared in film and television, most recently as a coach in the local version of the reality singing competition The Voice. In October, she will play Mrs. Lovett in a staging of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
