Eight kids get a little cultural exposure when they tried popular Filipino snacks in the latest video by React.

Of course, purists could argue that dinuguan and puto ( bloody pork stew and rice cake), balut (duck embryo), and other items that send most young eaters squirming in their seats are “more authentic,” but let’s not get too technical here. Most Pinoy kids eat the store-bought, highly-processed treats featured on the video on a regular basis anyway.

The kids were adorable and hilariously honest. Spoiler alert: Halo-halo was the top pick.

They started with adobo-flavored Boy Bawang, a local corn snack, which one kid said looked “like dog food.” But it wasn’t too bad for the other kids who tried it. One even said that she can finish a whole cup. Another asked he can take it home.

One kid called the mocha cake “squishy” and “terrible.”

Note: Not all Philippine-made mocha cakes are like that!

Chocnut, however, was “the best candy ever.” They’re actually peanut and milk chocolate bars… very addicting!

Sampaloc (tamarind), on the other hand, wasn’t too popular.

The favorite? A popular shaved ice dessert called halo-halo won most of the kids’ hearts.
