‘Taklub’ gets rave reviews after Cannes premiere

Congrats to Brillante Mendoza, whose movie Taklub premiered at the Cannes Film Festival last Tuesday, 19, 2015.

Included in the Un Certain Regard section of the filmfest, Taklub, which stars Nora Aunor, is about a mother who loses her kids because of Typhoon Yolanda.

The good thing is that the film has been getting some good reviews.

For example, Clarence Tsui of The Hollywood Reporter said that Taklub “could very well head onwards for a long festival run after its premiere at the Un Certain Regard section at Cannes,” while Maggie Lee of Variety thinks that domestic response will be warm because of the film’s relevance and because of “the reverence that lead actress Nora Aunor commands.”

We can’t wait for the other reviews! Exciting!
