Take note, GMA: Comic book artist shows it is possible to adapt Robin Hood without channeling ‘Arrow’

GMA head writer Suzette Doctolero already clarified that the Kapuso network’s upcoming primetime series Alyas Robin Hood did not rip off the American TV show Arrow.

But you really can’t deny that GMA’s interpretation of Robin Hood does bare a resemblance to Arrow‘s titular hero, at least based on the local show’s teaser trailer.

Comic book artist Arnold Arre — known for his acclaimed works such as Mythology Class and Trip to Tagaytay — proved that Robin Hood can be reinterpreted without looking like Stephen Amell’s Arrow or DC Comics’ Green Arrow.

He posted an illustration of how he would design the costume for GMA’s Alyas Robin Hood.

We can imagine Alyas Robin Hood‘s Dingdong Dantes wearing Arre’s Edgy costume.

But we like his Fun action/Adventure design the best. No one could say GMA copied Arrow if their superhero was wearing a Jollibee belt bag, right?
