They were only installed on Dec 1 but the stars of Maine Mendoza and Julie Anne San Jose at the Walk of Fame in Eastwood City already show signs of damage.
In his “FunFare” column on Philippine Star today, Ricky Lo asks “who destroyed the stars of Maine and Julie Anne at the Walk of Fame?”
San Jose’s star shows a deep scratch from the lower right leg of the star, while Mendoza’s has been etched starting from the lower left leg of the star.
Because they’re made with bronze, it was only the enforcement around the star that was tampered with.
The damage was noticed four days ago, at the wake of the supposed war between their fans.
“Bakit naman dumating sa ganyan ang pangyayari,” German Moreno, who is the creator and financier of the Walk of Fame, complained about the incident to Ricky Lo.
“It’s okay for fans to support their idols pero huwag naman violent,” Moreno continued.
Moreno said the police are now checking CCTV footage to identify the culprits.
The supposed war started when Sunday Pinasaya director Rich Ilustre said on Twitter that San Jose is Alden Richards’ girlfriend IRL, which angered the millions of AlDub fans. They started bashing San Jose.
Ilustre quickly issued an apology, saying it was only a joke.
When Mendoza guested on Pinasaya just last Sunday, she went up to San Jose at the backstage and apologized for all the bashing San Jose has been getting.
