Star Cinema is on a roll! After releasing the much-awaited trailer to the sequel of One More Chance comes the sneak peek to Etiquette For Mistresses.
It’s less than a minute long and it only features one soundbite from the movie: “How do you even teach a woman how to become a mistress?” Kris Aquino blurts out at the end of the trailer.
Seen in Star Cinema’s really short clip are a cigarette-toting Claudine Barretto, confused-looking Iza Calzado, Kim Chiu in a glittering dress, and comedienne Cheena playing mistresses of different men.
The film, directed by Chito Rono, is based on the Julie Yap-Daza book Etiquette for Mistresses and What Wives Can Learn From Them. The movie will be released in September.
Iza, whose character will have an affair with a news anchor, had said the movie “is not glorifying nor judging” extra-marital affairs.
“May matututunan dito ‘di lang ang mga mistress, kundi mga asawa, pati na rin mga lalaki,” said Claudine, who will be the ‘other woman’ of a business tycoon in an interview with ABS-CBN News last June.
In the movie, Kris’ character will be taking Kim’s under her wings and will be teaching her the rules of being a mistress.
Kim was at first unsure if she should take the role, saying in an interview “[this is] far from my comfort zone.” But Kris convinced the 25-year-old actress saying the movie will have a “powerful” message.
“Sinabi ko kay Kimmy gawin mo ito kasi may powerful message ito sa kabataan na pag papasukin mo ang ganitong klaseng buhay, be prepared for the consequences. And seriously, there are very big consequences,” Kris said in a recent episode of Kris TV.
Asked about the lessons that can be learned from the film, Kris explained: “Hindi s’ya masayang buhay, pero it’s a choice and it’s the choices that women make in their lives, and the price they pay for those choices. Hindi naman lahat malungkot eh, pero nagkakaroon ng happy ending. May nakakarealize that they deserve more. Mayroong kuntento sa sitwasyon.”
