Filipino singer-actress Saab Magalano will not be intimidated by trolls.

That’s what she proved Saturday when she defended herself from supporters of Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte who were offended by her criticisms of the president.

People were reacting to a tweet she posted Tuesday questioning a statement made by Philippine National Police Chief Ronald dela Rosa.

Her tweet juxtaposed a quote of dela Rosa saying “The president did not give any orders for you to kill” with headlines showing that the president indeed gave orders to kill suspects and criminals.

Magalona said that a number of Duterte supporters took screenshots of her tweets and shared them on other social media platforms.

One Twitter user with the handle @PawieSharpei defended the president by pointing out that one of the articles say Duterte’s statement was made in jest. This explanation did not go over well with Magalona.

She wasn’t taking the excuses about the media taking the president out of context either. “Framing people so it looks like “they fought back” so you can kill them. Fucking hilarious! What other context do you need? BYE,” she said in a mix of English and Filipino.

She posted another series of tweets last Saturday, saying that she is grossed out by the killings and that she will not back down from her opinion.

She called the administration kadiri (nasty) in a tweet.

“You will not silence me,” she continued.

Magalona is the daughter of legendary rap artist and actor Francis Magalona. She is also a blogger, actress, and vocalist for the band Cheats.
