Our rapid-fire roundup of things happening in Philippine showbiz.
1. ISRAEL GIVES ROSE FOSTANES LICENSE TO SING
It looks like the Pinay lesbian caregiver will get to sing professionally after all. The winner of the first-ever The X Factor Israel is now allowed to stay in the country and make a living as a singer, according to the Immigration Authority. She was given an artists’ VISA, but it hasn’t been decided yet how long she can stay for that.

2. MAJA SALVADOR HAS NEVER BEEN A MISTRESS

The Kapamilya star didn’t think twice about accepting the role of a mistress in the new ABS-CBN show The Legal Wife because it’s such a big project. She also wanted to veer away from all the sweet roles that she’s done in the past and level up. And so a mistress role, yay. She’s not even bothered by all the ahas/mistress bashing she’s been getting after ending up with Gerald Anderson, the ex-boyfriend of her BFF (ex-BFF?) Kim Chiu. She mentioned in the show Umagang Kay Ganda that playing a mistress is challenging for her because she’s never been one in real life.

3. JUDY ANN SANTOS WANTS ANOTHER BABY

She may not be preggers (Remember the last time she and hubby Ryan Agoncillo made it seem like they were infanticipating again? – False alarm.) but that’s not stopping her from wanting another baby. Juday joked that she just looks like she’s pregnant because of all the weight she gained from all the eating she did last holiday season. If and when they get pregnant again, Juday said that they’re already prepared and that even their youngest, three-year old Lucio, is prepared, as well. (Photo: judyannsantos Instagram account)

4. APRIL BOY REGINO’S LAST INTERVIEW

The “Di Ko Kayang Tanggapin” singer appeared in the show Rated K last Sunday for his last interview. Diagnosed with prostate cancer but cured from it, April was later on diagnosed with another disease that almost debilitated him. He confessed that he lost the will to live and even didn’t want to eat anymore since he knew he’d die soon anyway. He was hospitalized last August but 55% of his body recovered from the ailment so he was allowed to rest at home. However, the doctor told him he couldn’t perform in concerts anymore, which broke his heart. He’s still very grateful for getting a second shot at life. He also said that he’ll miss performing and making people happy, especially when giving away his trademark cap during concerts.

5. WATCH AICELLE SANTOS RAK IT AS THE LEAD IN RAK OF AEGIS

The Kapuso singer may not have gotten a spot in the London cast of Miss Saigon but you know what they say – when a door closes, a window opens. Aicelle bagged the role of Aileen, the lead in the Aegis-inspired Rak of Aegis musicale, and boy is she perfect for that. No doubt she’s got the vocal chops, plus she’s been getting better and better when it comes to stage acting, thanks to her experiences in Katy. Watch the video clip above and agree that she’s the best.
