Showbiz in a snap: Paulo reacts to KC’s tweet about not exclusively dating him, and other news

Our rapid-fire roundup of things happening in Philippine showbiz.

1. IS PAULO ASSUMING HE’LL END UP WITH KC?

A lot of people were surprised when Paulo Avelino revealed last weekend on Buzz ng Bayan that he’s dating KC Concepcion. And when KC Concepcion confirmed it, she clarified on Twitter that they are not exclusively dating and that it’s nothing serious. This made KC look she’s not that interested in him; it also made Paulo look like he’s assuming that everything’s going well with the two of them and that they might even end up together soon. Asked to react on KC’s tweet, he told Pep.ph that he didn’t intend to make it seem like things are getting serious between the two of them. He admitted that they are dating: having dinner, talking, but “nothing more than that.”

Sarah Geronimo and Matteo Guidicelli haven’t really confirmed that they are a couple, but a lot of people see how happy they are together, including Rayver Cruz, who was once linked to Sarah. He told ABS-CBN News that he’s happy that his friend Matteo is happy, and that he sees this whenever they’re shooting. Rayver added that his friendship with Matteo won’t get affected in case Matteo does have a romantic relationship with Sarah. He explained that he’s been friends with Matteo for quite a while now since they both live in the south and that they go to the same gym. Interestingly, Rayver is also good friends with Gerald Anderson, who was once linked to Sarah, as well.

Remember Bernard? He’s making a showbiz comeback via the indie film Kabisera, an entry to the Cinema One Originals Film Festival happening from Nov. 11 to 19. So why did he take a break from the entertainment industry? “I needed to breathe lang,” he told Pep.ph, adding that he also needed to take care of his family and also do some soul-searching. Bernard also clarified that he has a good relationship with ex Meryll Soriano and that she lets him spend a lot of time with their son Eli. “We’re both mature enough to know what to do for Eli.” So what’s next for Bernard? He’ll be part of the show The Legal Wife.

It’s no secret that the actor started out as an indie actor. In fact, his breakthrough role was a masahista in the indie film, well, Masahista. He even won the Young Critics Circles Best Actor award for that. And then for the gay film Daybreak, he won the Gawad Urian Best Supporting Actor Award. He doesn’t regret being part of those, even if a sex scene for Daybreak became viral online and was tagged as a sex scandal. In fact, he’s very proud of doing those films and how far they’ve come.
