1. HIGHLIGHTS OF DENIECE CORNEJO’S STARTALK INTERVIEW
Girl of the hour got talking yesterday, Feb. 2. Here are the highlights and our favorite quotes:
– on how she’s coping
Message for Vhong: “Kuya Vhong, may mg anak kang lalaki, may mga kapatid kang babae. Yung mali? Habang buhay mo dadalin yan.
– on Cedric Lee, etc.

The athlete and businessman sent ABS-CBN News a statement saying that the mauling case between Cedric Lee and Vhong Navarro saddens him. David and Cedric were once business partners but he was “wrongfully accused, held against my will, physically violated, terrorized and death-threatened,” leading him to bring his family and move to Los Angeles, California in 2007. David claims that the threats came from the movile numbers of Cedric and another business partner, Tyrone Ong, but the two denied the allegations. The husband and wife were eventually sued for estafa, for allegedly misusing the clinic’s money back when they were president and marketing director. David and wife Jessica Rodriguez have forgiven Cedric and Tyrone but they’re still seeking justice. “What happened to Vhong is not the first time such a crime had been committed. It is clear that evil deeds are being exposed. I pray that this will be the last time it will happen. We continue to pray that one day, the truth about the accusations publicly hurled against us will be known and we will finally get out justice,” he said.

Remember the lolo that Deniece identified in an old Facebook photo? No, not lolo Gozum, but her real granduncle Rodrigo Cornejo, who used to be a GMA 7 executive. His interview with Buzz ng Bayan aired yesterday, Jan. 2, where he defended Deniece, describing her as a “lovely and beautiful person” who “has a good heart.” He shared that he sees her as a woman who wants to prove herself, someone who wants to make it on her own – she knows what she wants, is brave and determined. Rod also shared that Deniece isn’t doing this because she wants to join showbiz. He himself asked Deniece about her relationship with Cedric Lee, and she said that they are not romantically together. He also asked her whether her charge is true or not, and she said that it is. “It’s either I believe her or not, and I chose to believe her,” he said, adding that he is asking for people to stop judging and just let the courts decide.

Tayo ay pantay pantay lamang.” Another post last Saturday, Feb. 1: “Under the eyes of the law: every person enjoys the presumption of innocence in the crimincal case.
