Showbiz in a snap: Claudine will never get back together with Raymart, and other news

Our rapid-fire roundup of things happening in Philippine showbiz:

1. CLAUDINE WILL NEVER GET BACK TOGETHER WITH RAYMART
Last Sept. 4, Claudine Barretto was asked if there’s a chance for reconciliation with Raymart Santiago. “Hindi na, okay na ‘yun. Huwag na,” she replied, explaining that she and even her children have already gotten used to life without him. In fact, the actress shared that their daughter Sabina, who is in the hospital because of high fever, isn’t even looking for him. But even if Raymart wanted to visit their daughter, he won’t be allowed to go near her because of the temporary protection order Claudine was granted. She added that there’s no need to fake things. “Hindi naman talaga siya gano’n, yun lang yon,” she said.

2. MTRCB CALLS THE ATTENTION OF EAT BULAGA! AND THE RYZZA MAE SHOW

Oh no, it looks like two of GMA 7’s shows are in trouble. The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board wants a mandatory conference for the two shows this Sept. 5 because they showed allegedly “child-unfriendly scenes.” In the July 29 episode of Eat Bulaga!, a host spat juice on Ryzza Mae Dizon’s face. On the other hand, during the Aug. 14 episode of The Ryzza Mae Show, a guest told the child host, “Landing bata ka.” Ryzza told the guest that she’s just a child and that she shouldn’t be harsh with her. The MTRCB posted on its official twitter account that “the scenes palpably violate the dignity of the child and have to be addressed by the show’s producer, TAPE Inc., as well as GMA Channel 7 over which the said show airs.”

3. ELLEN ADARNA QUITS SHOWBIZ

The sexy Kapuso star is saying bye to showbiz. She’s going back to Cebu, where her dad (who is a very successful businessman) is based. They had a misunderstanding three years ago but everything seems to be okay now since he’s asked his “prodigal daughter” to return to him. So what will Ellen do back in Cebu? Since she misses the corporate life — you know, the 8-to-5 life — she’ll most probably work for the family business (they’re building condominiums now). Ellen’s swan song is the film Ang Tag-araw ni Twinkle, which is an entry to the Film Development Council of the Philippines’ Sineng Pambansa Film Festival.

4. OGIE PICKS OPM JUNIOR AMBASSADORS

You have to hand it to Ogie Alcasid for really promoting Original Pilipino Music. His latest project is handpicking four young artists to bring his the Organisasyon ng Pilipinong Mang-Aawit (where he is the president) closer to the younger ones out there. So who are these ambassadors? Rapper Abra, and singers Yeng Constantino, Daniel Padilla, and Julie Anne San Jose. They will be going around to promote the group and its causes.

5. YASMIEN KURDI WANTS A CONTRACT WITH GMA 7

It was in 2010 when the Kapuso star decided to lie low. She went back to school and took up Nursing, but she also eventually found love and married Rey Soldevilla Jr. Recently, she made a successful showbiz comeback; she now appears in the hit show Anna Karenina. But now that the show is about to end, she still doesn’t have any project lined up. She’s definitely hoping for one from GMA. In fact, she wants a contract with GMA 7.
