After receiving a lot of congratulatory wishes when he used the caption “Merry Christmas from Mr. & Mrs. Miranda” for an Instagram photo, Chito Miranda just clarified through a statement via Universal Records that he is NOT married to girlfriend Neri Naig. Ryzza Mae Dizon and James “Bimby” Yap Jr.’s movie now holds the box office record for highest opening day gross for a Filipino movie, after raking in PHP50.4 million on Christmas Day. Congrats to director Marlon Rivera, Aling Maliit, Bimby, and – let’s not forget – Bimby’s stage mom, Kris Aquino!

4. MELAI AND ANGELICA HAVE PATCHED THINGS UP

A Christmas miracle: Angelica Panganiban and Melai Cantiveros have reconciled, after getting into a rift that involved Melai’s now-husband Jason Francisco (their Banana Split co-star Pooh supposedly doubted Jason’s capability to give Melai and their baby a good future, and Angelica came to Pooh’s defense). Angelica on Instagram posted a screengrab of their SMS exchange, where among other things, Angelica offered to be the ninang of Melai and Jason’s baby. “I will spoil the baby,” she texted. Rocco Nacino didn’t just learn new things for his movie Pedro Calungsod: Batang Martir; he also sacrificed a lot. To be able to accurately portray the saint, the Kapuso star had to learn how to speak Visayan and Spanish, plus sing in Latin. He also had to skip this year’s Cosmo Bash. He has been joining the sexy event for the past few years but opted to skip it this year since his “saintly” image might get affected.
