Sandara Park’s Philippine TV comeback is an ABS-CBN reality show

Now this is a showbiz comeback we can all get excited about.

Korean pop star and Pambansang Krungkung Sandara Park is returning to Philippine TV as part of ABS-CBN’s upcoming reality talent show, Pinoy Boyband Superstar.

Sandara, 31, will be joined by singer Yeng Constantino and comedian Vice Ganda as the show’s judges.

The news was confirmed by Star Cinema’s Adprom director Roxy Liquigan, who took to Twitter to announce Sandara’s ABS-CBN return.

Sandara — who goes by the name of Dara in South Korea as a member of the famous girl group 2NE1 — also posted a video message about the project on her Instagram account Mon evening, Jun 27.

“This is going to be exciting. See you, Kapamilya. Mahal ko kayo!” she said. The caption for the video: “Mahal ko kayo kapamilya!!! Noon at ngayon.”

It’s rather fitting that Sandara’s first regular project on ABS-CBN after becoming a Korean pop star is a reality talent show. She entered local showbiz via the ABS-CBN reality talent show Star Circle Quest in 2004.

During her press conference for clothing brand Penshoppe last April, Sandara said she wants to do a movie with Vice Ganda.
