Being challenged is good, Ryzza Mae!

The child star says doing her new daily comedy drama series Princess in the Palace is hard.

“Before this, I just sang, danced and chatted with people. Now, I have to act and cry. I need to memorize lines,” she tells entertainment media during a press conference.

In the new show, Ryzza plays the character of Princess Cruz, who meets and then becomes super tight with a fictitious Philippine President Leona Jacinto played by Eula Valdez.

Princess in the Palace, which premiered in September, has Ryzza doing a lot of new things. Says show director Mike Tuviera, it is in the show where Ryzza had her first crying scene and her first breakdown scene.

Being serious, Ryzza says is one of the many new challenges for her. She is so used to and good at making people laugh that her talk show, The Ryzza Mae Show, quickly rose to popularity three years ago.

Princess in the Palace is being aired world wide on GMA Pinoy TV. It also stars Aiza Seguerra, Boots Anson-Roa, Ciara Sotto, Marc Abaya and more.
