Cole Sprouse channeling his inner Darna is perfect.

Filipino Riverdale fans will be glad to know that the gang came together to deliver a few memorable lines from classic Filipino movies.

In a video posted by Globe Telecom yesterday, Camila Mendes (Veronica) gives the audience a line from the 1985 film Bituing Walang Ningning which was originally said by Cherie Gil.

In the film, Gil plays the famous singer Lavinia who becomes insecure as she is overshadowed by her number one fan Dorina (Sharon Cuneta), an aspiring singer.

In one scene, Lavinia tells Dorina: “You’re nothing but a second rate trying hard copycat!”

Mendes utters this line in the Globe video, for which we’ll give a 4/5 rating, which could have been higher if she threw a drink on someone’s face — just like Lavinia did.

Riverdale‘s lead star KJ Apa (Archie) gives us a taste of his take on John Lloyd Cruz’s memorable One More Chance line.

One More Chance is about a longtime couple Popoy (Cruz) and Basha (Bea Alonzo) who seemed destined for marriage. When problems arise and differing ambitions break them apart, it becomes difficult for the two to start their lives anew.

Cruz’s Popoy uttered a memorable line when Basha, his former lover, told him that she wanted him back. Sadly, Popoy was already with someone else.

Apa delivers the same line in the video: “She had me at my worst, you had me at my best, and you chose to break my heart.”

We’re loving the heartfelt energy on that one. We’ll give that a 4/5.

Lili Reinhart (Betty) on the other hand gave a subtle take on Nora Aunor’s memorable scene in the 1982 film Himala, a movie wherein a Filipino villager (Nora Aunor) named Elsa seemed to have miraculous healing powers after seeing an apparition of the Virgin Mary.

Reinhart delivered a line from an important scene that many Filipinos who haven’t even seen the movie are familiar with.

Reinhart delivers it in a softer tone in English: “There are no miracles.”

We think its safe to say that Reinhart got a 3/5 rating for that one. Aunor’s performance was a bit more powerful.

Lastly, Cole Sprouse (Jughead) took on the role of Darna, saying her most memorable line in Filipino.

Darna happens to be one of the most iconic Filipino comic book characters of all time. Introduced by Mars Ravelo in 1950, she’s the local version of Wonder Woman.

“Ding! Ang bato!” exclaims Cole Sprouse. That translates to “Ding, the stone,” which Darna tells her sidekick Ding whenever she needed to swallow the stone to transform herself into a flying superhero.

Sprouse adds to someone off-cam: “I think we nailed it. Is this when I swallow the stone whole and turn into a superhero?”

Yes indeed, Cole. Gotta give the guy props for doing his homework. 5/5!

The video had over 1.4million views and almost 80,000 shares as of this article’s posting. Netizens loved it, such as Trixie Calinawan. She wrote: “Awww I was hoping that Cole shouted ‘Darna!’ at the end.”

Same here, Trixie. Same here.

Munice Uy wrote: “[J]ughead shookt me with his [T]agalog [skills].”

“Brilliant. Great concept! My vote goes to JUGHEAD! Of course, well done to everyone for trying. MAY HIMALA!” exclaimed Alvin Bautista.

Celine Chua tagged a friend and said in a mix of English and Filipino: “For [some] good vibes before we start with season 3… hahaha”

Excited to watch the whole gang? Riverdale‘s season 3 is now streaming on Netflix.
