Richard Gutierrez reveals frustration with TV5 over ‘Panday’

So much for his big TV comeback.

Richard Gutierrez said he was frustrated with how TV5 handled his fantasy TV show Panday, which aired from Feb to Jun 2016.

Specifically, he was not pleased with the erratic timeslot the network gave Panday

Because TV5 airs PBA games on primetime, Panday was not aired daily — unlike other network primetime shows that would air from Mon to Fri. It aired only on days when there was no televised PBA game.

“To be honest I was frustrated with the timeslot that was given to Panday,” he said during the press conference of the E! Asia reality show It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez, as quoted by Pep.ph.

“Ang usapan namin magkakaro’n ng fixed timeslot, but as soon as we started airing, our timeslot kept on moving.”

(We agreed the show would have a fixed timeslot, but as soon as we started airing, our timeslot kept moving.”

Richard added, “Yung airing days namin kept changing. Ako mismo as Panday, hindi ko alam kung ipapalabas ba kami ngayong gabi, anong oras.”

(Our airing days kept changing. I’m the title character of the show, but even I don’t know when our show will air.)

This is unfortunate since Panday was Richard’s first big TV show since his hiatus from showbiz in 2013.

Richard, 32, said his TV show may have been affected by the falling out between TV5 and Viva Entertainment.

Well, at least Richard has his career as a reality show star to fall back on.

It Takes Gutz to be a Gutierrez — the reality show that focuses on the lives of the Gutierrez family, including mother Annabelle Rama — will air its fourth season on Mon, Jul 25 on E! Asia.
