About two months ago, Switchfoot surprised Tondo residents with an impromptu performance on the street.
Turns out, they were shooting a music video for their new song “Float”.
In the video, the band members were seen pushing a jeepney, playing with children and interacting with locals. Looks like they really enjoyed themselves.
There was a special focus on Tondo as one of the poorest areas in the planet. The video features scholars from Young Focus International, an organization finding sponsors for poverty-strcken kids in the Philippines.
“We sing because hope deserves an anthem,” said Jon Forman on a post by Church Simplified.
With lines like, “It’s how we float, yeah. Feet ain’t even touching ground,” their song is about what it means to be a community. How inspiring!
Those who are interested in sponsoring a child, here’s how you can help.
Watch the video, it’s something that will cheer you up.
