Racing to raise funds for World Vision: Miriam Quiambao, Anne Curtis, Cristalle Belo Henares, Christine Bersola-Babao

There is no denying how powerful celebs are. This is why World Vision Philippines enlisted the help of their celeb ambassadors to participate in the “Celebrities for Children: The Race for Hope,” a campaign that aims to find sponsors for at least 1,000 poor children in the country.

Participating in the competition are TV host Christine Bersola-Babao, entrepreneur Cristalle Belo Henares, movie and TV actress Anne Curtis, and former beauty queen Miriam Quiambao. So what exactly do they need to do? They have three months to achieve any of the following: get 300 sponsorships via credit card or annual sponsorships, get 150 sponsorships via credit card or annual sponsorships via other means (check, cash) and at least P1,080,000 one-time donation, or get at least 2M as one-time donation.

Prizes await all four participating celebs. Each one will get a trip to another country to participate in an area development program. For example, the first placer wins a trip to Africa.

So if you’re a fan of any of the participating celebs, or if you want to sponsor a child, then now is the perfect time to do so. Check out the World Vision site for more information.

Who do you think will win this? Of course, it looks like Anne has an advantage considering how she has over four million followers on Twitter. But we’ll see…

Yesterday, at the launch of the campaign in Annabel’s, only Christine and Miriam were able to attend and they shared how they plan to win the competition. Christine will definitely ask help from her rich friends who actually have sponsored some kids in the past when she invited them to her kids’ birthday. Instead of bringing a gift, the TV host asked them to sponsor a child instead. On the other hand, Miriam will maximize her network of contacts, especially in the corporate world, now that she’s somehow taking a break from showbiz and is focusing on doing public speaking in the corporate world.
